What to expect
Laminate is designed and engineered for easy installation. You can install laminate in almost every room in your home, whether above or below ground, as well as over wood or concrete. Better yet, installation does not require glue, nails, or staples. Rather, each plank locks together and "floats" above the subfloor. While laminate installation is doable for experienced DIYers, we recommend trusting professionals. This way, your installation will be protected under your manufacturer's warranty.
Since laminate floats above your subfloor, it can be installed over other types of flooring including wood, concrete, vinyl, and even carpet. That means you don’t have to pull up your old flooring or deal with the mess of repairing any pre-existing damage. Just make sure your subfloor is structurally sound, dry, clean, and flat. We also recommend an underlayment. This absorbs moisture while making your laminate sound and feel more like real hardwood.

During & after installation
On the day of the installation, someone who is at least 18 years old will need to be present to greet the installers and show them to the work area. You'll need to keep children and pets away from the work area for the duration of the installation. Once the job is finished, establish good ventilation for at least 48 hours afterwards. From there, it's up to you to care for and maintain your new laminate flooring!
