Over time, even laminate will eventually start to show the effects of traffic, stains, and spills. At KR Flooring Solutions, we want your flooring to stand the test of time. So, we're sharing some of the best practices when it comes to caring for and rejuvenating laminate.
Daily care & maintenance
For starters, you should incorporate some preventative maintenance into your routine. First, invest in a few doormats and place them strategically throughout your home. Encourage visitors to use them to keep dirt off of your new flooring. For daily care, you need only vacuum and dry mop regularly, using products with care (make sure they're manufacturer-approved).
Dealing with stains
Wipe away any liquid messes with a clean cloth as soon as you see them occur. While some newer laminate flooring products include waterproof finishes, most do not. Therefore, it's essential to treat these spills right away. For more stubborn messes, see your manufacturer's care guidelines. Laminate care will often vary by material and manufacturer; for instance, Shaw flooring includes wood, so it will require a wood-safe cleaning product.
